Today, there are many such opportunities available to the upcoming singers. One such opportunity is Indian Idol which is adapted from the format of Pop Idol. Its first season was started in 2004-2005. This singing platform, Indian Idol show was given to the Indian public by Sony TV, premiered in the year 2004 on 28th October and concluded on 5th March, 2005. First season was hosted by Aman Verma and Mini Mathur. The show judges were Sonu Nigam, Farah Khan and Anu Malik. The winner was Abhijeet Sawant.
Its second season started on 21st November, 2005 and concluded on 22nd April, 2006. This show’s second season was hosted by the same charismatic hosts and judges from the first season. This season competition was won by Sandeep Acharya.
Indian Idol’s third season started on May 4th, 2007 and ended with the declaration of the winner on September 23rd, 2007. The female host Mini Mathur was joined by famous TV personality Hussain Kuwajerwala as the male host. Audiences saw new line of judges in this season namely Alisha Chinai, Anu Malik, Udit Narayan and Javed Akhtar. The winner of third season is Prashant Tamang.
Fourth season of Indian Idol show began on 1st April, 2008 and concluded on March 1st, 2009. The contestants were judged by Javed Akhtar and Anu Malik and two new judges, Actress Sonali Bendre and famous singer Kailash Kher. About Indian Idol, one can say that it simply won millions of hearts of the audiences.
The nest season that is fifth season began on 26th April, 2010 and concluded on 15th August, 2010. Anu Malik retained his place as the judge of the show accompanied by two new judges, female singer Sunidhi Chauhan and music composer Salim Merchant. The sixth season of the Indian Idol talent hunt is soon to be aired in Sony Channel. The trio set of judges from the previous season 5 of the show is retained for the upcoming show and will make the competition even more interesting and new.
